BELGRADE – The State B-C Softball Tournament kicked off last week with the Plains-Hot Springs Trotters joining the western contingent of the field at the year’s final competition.

The Trotters opened up the state tournament against the Conrad-Choteau Cowgirls and were unable to get past the team from the eastern region of the state.

Conrad-Choteau defeated Plains-Hot Springs 9-0 as both teams opened the tournament.

However, the Trotters were not eliminated and played an elimination game on Friday against Great Falls Central.

Last Friday’s game against Great Falls was a high scoring event, with both teams expressing their will to remain active in the state tournament.

Both Great Falls and Plains-Hot Springs got into double digit run totals as the squads fought to stay alive.

Following a hard fought game it was Great Falls, who narrowly outlasted the Trotters, earning a 14-10 victory over Plains-Hot Springs.

Though the Trotters season came to an end, the team can look proudly back on the 2015 season, where Plains-Hot Springs qualified for the State B-C tournament for the second consecutive year.
