Crime Stopper: Schillinger Construction experiences theft

PLAINS – Last Monday, the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office was notified parties unknown had made off with some construction equipment from its parking spot at the entrance to Highway 28 in Plains.

According to information provided by the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office, someone backed a vehicle up to a 20-foot trailer with a CAT Skidster and Cold Planer on it. They then drove off with the equipment, headed up Highway 28. It is believed the theft occurred on Sunday, November 1.

This is a felony theft and a sizable reward is being offered for information on the suspect’s whereabouts. They have collected some evidence, but ask anyone with additional information to contact the sheriff’s office at 827-3584 or Detective Martin Spring at 827-6936.

“We’re hoping someone will come forward with information on Crime Stoppers or something,” Spring said.

The equipment is owned by Schillinger Construction and has been used in a recent project to repave highway 28 between Plains and Hot Springs.
