SUPERIOR - Friday was the first day of the two-day 2015 Western C Volleyball Tournament. Hosted in the Superior High School gymnasium was the District 10C tournament.

The Noxon Lady Red Devils and the St. Regis Lady Tigers squared off in the morning.

The two teams stayed neck and neck in the beginning of the first set, consistently tying or never drifting more than a point or two away from each other. After tying at nine points, the Devils pushed ahead, creating a considerable lead. By the end of the set Noxon had comfortably won, 25-14.

The Devils took a small lead in the beginning of the second set, but the Tigers were not far behind. After catching the Devils at nine points, the Tigers jumped ahead and the Devils were now in a different position. At 17 points the two teams tied up again and Noxon then climbed ahead. Again, St. Regis caught back up with Noxon at 21 points, but then the Devils refused to lose the set and pulled ahead, winning the set 25-21.

St. Regis came back ready to fight after the three minute break following the second set. Quickly the Tigers racked up point after point, barely giving Noxon a chance to breath. By the middle of the set, the Tigers led the way, 16-8. The Devils came back with a gallant fight, but it was too late and the Tigers won the set, 25-18.

The fourth set was the last set of the match for the two teams. Noxon took the lead from the beginning and held it throughout the set. Eventually the Devils created a sizable point gap and finished the set 25-15.
