Driver pulls woman out of burning building

A house fire was reported on Sunday afternoon, November 22, west of Alberton on Bernie Lane off of Frontage Road. According to Frenchtown Fire Department spokesman, Mel Holtz, a driver on the freeway saw the flames and immediately pulled over and called 911. He then jumped the fence and ran to the house. Pulling a woman, approximately 40 to 50 years old, from the building. 

This is the fourth house fire in the past three month in the Alberton area. The Tocci family home, located behind Alberton School, burned to the ground in September.  The Cole home was completely destroyed by fire on October 16.  And the home of Sarah Peden was destroyed on October 31, she did not survive the fire.
