HOT SPRINGS - Starting at 8:00 a.m. and going till 2:00 p.m., a break, lunch and rummage sale was held at the Tribal Nutrition Center on Spring Street, was held to help the Preston Hot Springs Library, which is in dire need of a new computer system.

Liz De Roche who is a board member of the library, explained the explained the problem in detail.

We are having a breakfast lunch and a rummage sale. It is sponsored by the Preston Hot Springs Library, the internal management software has crashed and there is no longer support for the system because it is so old. We need to buy a new system… The internal management software is like checking in the books, checking out the books, the whole inventory, the statistical reports, we can’t do any of that with this system.”

De Roche said the funds needed to buy a new system and pay the librarian and her assistant overtime would be a total of $1,000 dollars.

The breakfast that was prepared was donated and cooked by Linda Landrum. All of the items, which filled the nutrition center were donated by the Hot Springs community, De Roche said. A library in dire need of funds
