THOMPSON FALLS - Thursday night, the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks took on the Florence Falcons in an evening five-match game. The Lady Hawks gave a strong performance, but the visiting Falcons dominated the court and finished the game in three matches.

In the first set, the Lady Hawks and Falcons were neck and neck in the beginning, trading off serves. Eventually the Falcons would push ahead, soon the point difference started to grow, with Florence leading by 5 points and then progressively gaining more.

Despite the strong performance from Florence, the Lady Hawks held on and continued to give it their all throughout the first set. However, in the end the set would go to Florence with 25, Thompson Falls 15.

The second set started off with Florence quickly putting points on the board, sometimes trailing Thompson Falls by 6 points. By the middle of the set, Florence held a lead with a point difference of 8 to 10. It could be seen that the Lady Hawks were giving their best to hold strong and stay in the game, knowing that it was only the second set, and they could still pull ahead.

At the end of the second set, Florence would finish in the lead at 25 and the Lady Hawks at 11.

The third set decided the game, with Florence taking the match, however the Lady Hawks would not give it to them without a hard fight. In the beginning of the set it looked like Florence would lead the way, as they did in the second set, but just when it looked like they would finish far ahead, Thompson Falls starting putting points on the board.

Florence led 19 to 11 near the end of the set, but then the Lady started to close the gap and Florence only led by 5 points. In the end, though, Florence would win the set and match, but the Lady Hawks had fought hard the whole time and closed the gap, with Florence finishing only seven points ahead, 25 to 18.
