Warm Feet Happy Hearts sock drive

The South Side Sparks 4-H Club is helping local families in need this winter with a Warm Feet Happy Hearts Sock Drive.

The club is accepting donations of any size of new socks. Donation boxes can be found at Plains High School, Circle Drive-In and Colleen’s Country Store, or contact a South Side Sparks 4-H Club member.

Retirement ceremony for VFW flag

The local VFW Post No. 3596 will be holding a flag retirement ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. with a presentation and spaghetti dinner starting at 4:30 p.m.

Tree of Life

Reception

The Clark Fork Valley Hospital will host a Hospice Tree of Life Reception on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.

The event — meant to remember and honor special loved ones who have passed away — will feature guest speakers, music, appetizers and refreshments. There will also be a silent auction.

Sanders County concerts

Local music students will be performing in their annual holiday concerts in the coming weeks. Scheduled performances include:

n Trout Creek: Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m.

n Plains: Grades K-3 on Monday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. and grades 4-6 at 7 p.m.; Middle school and high school on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.

n Thompson Falls: Junior high and high school on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m.; Elementary school on Monday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m.

n Noxon: Grades K-4 on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m.; Grades 5-12 on Monday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m.

n Dixon: Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m.
