Thompson Falls, Plains-Hot Springs wrestlers win at Bob Kinney Classic

SUPERIOR — Thompson Falls claimed second place and Plains-Hot Springs was close behind in third at the Bob Kinney Classic in Superior last weekend.

The Blue Hawks totaled 148 points, trailing only Libby’s 159 1/2. Plains-Hot Springs finished with 129 points.

Thompson Falls boasted a pair of individual champions, with Kaleb Frank pinning Libby’s Dillon Yeadon in the first period at 113 pounds and Jase Sorenson doing the same to Arlee’s George Shick at 170.

Plains-Hot Springs wrestlers won at 145, 152 and 160, taking down a pair of Blue Hawks in the process.

Luke Lile won a narrow 9-8 decision against Thompson Falls’ Sam Ostwald at 145, James Detienne pinned Ostwald’s teammate Cody Garrison at 152 and Kane Lawson won via technical fall at 160 in a match with Libby’s Tanner Wood.
