Horsemen blow out Charlo; Thompson Falls girls win big

CHARLO — Ryan Ovitt’s 17 points led Plains to a 69-41 District 14C conference win on the road Friday evening.

Ovitt was joined in double-figures by Jay Von Heeder (16 points), Alec Cole (12) and Kyle Weeks (11).

The Horsemen built a 24-point lead through just three quarters.

MISSOULA — Danny Hoisington scored 20 points but Class C Valley Christian raced out to a 32-19 halftime lead and held on to beat Class B Thompson Falls in non-conference action.

The Blue Hawks scored 33 second half points but it was not enough to erase the first-half deficit.

Dylan Beckman added 11 and Payton Frields scored 10 for Thompson Falls.

Valley Christian’s Zach Baugher led all scorers with 24 points.

NOXON —The Tigers jumped on Noxon 21-3 in the first quarter and never looked back, claiming a District 14C conference win.

Brock Cantrell-Field had a monster game for St. Regis with 37 points, more than twice as many as any other player in the game. Trevor Lowry added 12 in the win.

Quincy Grupenhoff paced the Red Devils with 17 points and Rylan Weltz chipped in 13.

Noxon’s game against Two Eagle River on Friday was canceled and will be made up later this season.

Thompson Falls led 39-8 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 16-0 after the break.

Three Blue Hawks scored in double-figures, Haley Wilson (16), Ember Schwindt (14) and Haley Morgan (10).
