Bluehawk wrestlers come out on top for senior night

THOMPSON FALLS – During Thompson Falls Wrestling’s senior night quad match, Thursday, the guys had some great wins, making a strong goodbye to their time wrestling in the home gym.

Head Coach Ian Taylor recalled the team showed good intensity on the mat and there was good effort in their techniques and performances. There were good matches in the 113 class, with a consolation match after one earlier in the season was cancelled, and 152 class where Jay Sorenson defeating Mission Charlo’s Trent Dennison.

“That was nice to see,” said Taylor of the win.

Senior Kyle Milner also won in his match against Steven Michael, from Ronan. The coach said this was a nice win since it was his senior night and the last night he would be wrestling in the Thompson Falls gym.

The night was senior night for seniors Dylan Kreutzer and Milner. At the start of the evening they were called to the center of the gym with their parents and recognized for their accomplishments and time on the team.

Taylor recalled Milner had been on the team for a long time and losing him would leave a big hole to fill. He recalled how Milner has always been a role model for younger kids on the team and always worked hard as a leader.

“You always miss a guy like that,” he said.

This week, in practice, the team has begun preparing for the divisional competitions.
