THOMPSON FALLS – While they put up a strong fight, the Lady Hawks came away with a loss in their Saturday game against the Eureka Lady Lions.

Eureka came out to a strong lead early in the game. While the Thompson Falls girls fought to recover, improving in the second quarter, they could not overcome the home team’s defenses to come back. The first half closed with a score of 43-15 to Eureka.

The Lady Hawks rallied in the second half, breaking through Eureka’s defense and pulling ahead. While they only just pulled ahead in the third quarter, the team pulled ahead by a significant amount in the fourth. Eureka’s lead was too strong, though, and they were not able to make it into overtime. The game closed with a final score of 42-61 to the Lady Lions.

Shey Hannum led the Lady Hawks, contributing 16 points for Thompson Falls. Haley Wilson also had a good game, bringing in 10 points.

Thompson Falls’ next game will be on Friday, February 12, against Bigfork; as the last home game of the regular season, this will be the Lady Hawks’ senior night.
