St. Regis Tigers end their season in Pablo tourney

14C districts were played last week in Pablo at the SKC Joe McDonald Gym, where the St. Regis Lady Tigers met Noxon in their first game on Thursday afternoon. The girls charged through the game neck-and-neck until the final buzzer, with Noxon taking a slim win over St. Regis, 43-40.

That knocked the Lady Tigers back into the loser’s bracket, where they faced Charlo on Saturday morning. Again, the Tigers stayed with their opponent in a close game until the end. But in the final period, the Vikings charged ahead for a final St. Regis defeat of 35-25, putting an end to their chance at the Western C Divisional games to be held in Hamilton Feb. 25-27.

The St. Regis boys started their tournament on Thursday against Plains, where they experienced their first defeat at districts with a 75-32 score. Their next game was held on Friday against Two Eagle River. This was a high scoring game, with Two Eagle winning, 82-69, taking St. Regis out of the tournament.
