HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs Savage Heat came in third place after defeating Charlo with a final score of 62-52.

The game was close, but the Savage Heat dominated the court. The first quarter had their defense hold the opposition back as they pressed ahead. Charlo’s defenders could not keep the guys away from the net and the first quarter closed with a final score of 17-9.

Charlo improved their game in the second quarter, matching the Hot Springs team in points; both teams pressed ahead at the same pace, but Hot Springs’ lead was too strong for a tie to come about. The first half closed with a score of 29-12.

Charlo continued to improve into third quarter, keeping the Savage Heat from getting more points. Hot Springs’ offense continued to dominate, though, and they kept up their lead, expanding it as they pressed ahead. The third quarter saw Hot Springs on top with a score of 42-26.

The Savage Heat broke to an advantage again in the final quarter. They pressed ahead, breaking the Charlo defense and keeping their offense away from the net. The opposition was still strong and kept the Hot Springs team on their toes to the final buzzer.

Jack Dolson, Trevor Paro and Zach Osborne led the team through the game. Dolson scored the most with 21 baskets as Osborne and Paro contributed 15 points each.

Thursday saw the Savage Heat dominate the court against Two Eagle River, moving ahead with a final score of 69-21.

Hot Springs also played against the Plains Horsemen, Friday, but were defeated. The game was close and came to a close with a final score of 46-48. This put them into a game against Noxon, which came out as a victory.

The Savage Heat played a game against Darby, Monday, to determine who would move on to the Divisional Tournament this week.
