THOMPSON FALLS – The Thompson Falls Lady Hawks came just short of victory, Saturday, when they went to Troy, coming away with a final score of 41-54.

The Thompson Falls girls had a slow start in the first quarter as the Lady Trojans doubled the points they gained closing the quarter with a score of 9-18. In the second quarter, though, they pulled the home team back, keeping even with their scores. It was not enough, though, and the first half closed with a score of 20-30 to Troy.

As the second half opened, Thompson Falls struggled to overcome the Troy defense; they fought back hard too, though, keeping the Lady Trojans from leaping too far ahead. The final quarter saw the Lady Hawks break through the Troy defense, matching them score for score. The game ended with Troy ahead, but Thompson Falls holding close.

Shey Hannum and Haley Wilson led the Lady Hawks with 15 and 12 points contributed respectively. Lindsay Lewis was the third highest scorer with 11 points.
