THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks were just edged out of victory, last week, at their home game against the Lady Lions from Eureka.

The game was close. Both teams played a strong game for the first quarter, keeping close with neither pulling ahead for very long. The Lady Hawks opened the game with a slight lead after a three-point shot hit nothing but net; the teams maintained the one-point difference throughout the quarter. The Lady Lions edged ahead at the end, though, with the quarter closing at 12-13 to Eureka.

As the second quarter started, Eureka kept up their lead, though the Lady Hawks were keeping close. Thompson Falls was able to tie the score, pulling the opposition back as they worked to gain the lead. Eureka was able to edge back ahead, though, jumping ahead to close the half with a score of 17-23.

The second half saw the Lady Lions start opening their lead more. The Lady Hawks were able to pull them back, though, matching them score for score; they kept up a stalemate where neither team advanced their lead. The third quarter continued like this until the quarter closed at 29-39 to Eureka.

The stalemate continued in the fourth quarter as well with neither team gaining ground. The game’s final score was 42-52 to the Lady Lions.
