The Healthy Communities Coalition Committee met on Tuesday, January 12. The groups shared updates on their programs and organization activities, as well as discussed upcoming events and areas of concern.

Laura Acker with the PEAK Foundation showed a short video of what their organization has been doing over the past year. Last year the group did a play, and this year they want to change the format to a variety show featuring 10 minute skits. They have some skits available that people can do, or community members can create their own. A public meeting was held on Saturday for individuals interested in participating. The show will be held on Saturday, February 27. PEAK also has a new website, PEAKFoundation.org, which they are hoping will go live soon.

Mary Furlong, who is with Healthy Relationships Project/Helpline, told the group that the Missoula Self Help Law Center will be in Superior on February 11. She said that the center offers people help with free legal advice in civil cases, for example, divorce issues, child custody, landlord tenant issue and more. They will be at the courthouse from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Monte Turner, with Mineral Community Hospital said that there will be a free two-hour triage training on February 10, which is free and open to the public.

Tim Read, Mineral County Planner, said that they have information from the new growth policy report that the state requires the county to produce. He said that they will try to get the information updated on the Mineral County website as soon as possible.

The next meeting for the group will be held at 11:30 a.m. on March 8 in St. Regis at the Senior Center.
