PLAINS – The Plains Horsemen claimed a strong victory against the Red Devils, last week, when they travelled across the county to Noxon.

The Horsemen leapt out to a huge lead in the first quarter as they put lots of pressure on the home team’s offense. Noxon played hard, but were unable to overpower the Plains players to gain on them. The first quarter closed with a score of 21-1 to Plains.

In the second quarter Noxon rallied, pressing back on the Plains defenders and keeping much closer. The Horsemen were still holding strong, though, and everyone on the court got multiple baskets; while they still trailed, the Red Devils pushed through and claimed many points of their own. The first half closed with a score of 30-10.

This pattern continued into the third quarter as the teams kept close. Plains stayed ahead, though, maintaining their lead and increasing it. The Noxon guys kept up a strong show and, while they were not able to close with Plains, they did not let them get further ahead. The quarter closed with a score of 48-32.

In the final quarter, Noxon got a small leg up on the Horsemen. Their defenders were able to keep the Plains offense at bay and get a quick step up. Both teams were able to keep close as they racked up almost equal points, but Plains’ lead was too strong. The game closed with a final score of 67-36.
