HOT SPRINGS – Hot Springs’ Lady Savage Heat had two games last week, facing off against Two Eagle River and Arlee.

When they played Two Eagle, the Hot Springs girls fought hard but an early burst ahead led to the Lady Eagles coming away victorious. In the first quarter, Two Eagle claimed 23 points – more than doubling the Hot Springs score. The second quarter was similarly strong, with the Lady Eagles bringing a powerful defense. The half ended with a score of 18-40 to Two Eagle.

In the second half, the Hot Springs girls rallied and advanced their score while keeping the opposition back. The girls also brought a stronger offense and improved their standing. Two Eagle’s early lead was too much, though, and the game closed with a final score of 45-73.

It was a learning experience for the young team, though.

Hot Springs also got good experience in their game against Arlee, which was also a defeat. The Arlee teams have traditionally been some of the best in the conference.

The game started with Arlee leaping out to a powerful 20-point lead. Their defense kept the Lady Savage Heat from scoring much. The first half ended with a score of 3-43.

In the second half, though, Hot Springs was able to push through and bring in more points for their side. The game came to a close with a final score of 10-65.
