St. Regis girls, boys take on Charlo, Lincoln

The St. Regis basketball teams challenged the Charlo Vikings in St. Regis on Friday night. The boys managed to hold a close score in the first half of the game, with Charlo leading by one point. But the second half of the game was a different story, as the Vikings charged ahead in the third quarter putting 30 points on the board compared to the Tiger’s 12. The same story held true in the fourth quarter, as the Vikings put up another 17 points to the Tiger’s 7, leading the team to a win with 71-42. Trevor Lowry lead the Tigers in points with 18.

The Lady Vikings held a tight lead over the Lady Tigers in the first half, with 6-10 at the end of the first quarter, and 16-21 at the half. But the Vikings came out swinging in the third quarter and skipped putting 15 points up to the Tiger four. The fourth quarter was close, with the Tiger making eight to the Vikings seven, but it wasn’t enough to pull out a win. The final score, Vikings win 43-28. Madison Hill was high scorer with 10 points.

St. Regis basketball traveled to Lincoln on Saturday for a game against the Lynx. The boys kept a fairly tight score in the first half of the game, with a five point spread in the first quarter, and an eight point spread in the second quarter, giving the Lynx a 13 point lead at the half with 38-25.

In the fourth quarter, the Tigers put up 16 points to Lincoln’s 12. But in the fourth quarter, the Lynx came out charged up and trounced the Tigers, with a 77-57 win. Brock Cantrell-Field was high scorer with 27 points.

The Lady Tigers took the lead in the first quarter and held steady throughout their game against the Lynx. They had a commanding lead of 31-17 at the half. The Tigers didn’t let up in the third quarter and put another ten points on the board, to Lincoln’s seven. In the final quarter, they charged back with 16 more points for the win of 57-30. Madison Hill was the evening’s high scorer with 21 points.
