Joanna Ruth McCrea

Joanna Ruth McCrea, 94, long time resident of Plains passed away May 29, 2016 of natural causes.

She was born on August 14, 1921 in Roundup to Thomas C. and Mable F. (Sealey) McCrea. She attended Camas Prairie grade school and graduated Plains High School in 1940.

Joanna worked as a nurse’s aide in Miners Hospital in Roundup and in Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She also worked for many years for the Meier & Frank Company in Portland.

In 1958 she returned to Montana to care for her parents. She lived and worked on the family ranch until 2006.

Joanna was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charley, Roland and John. She is survived by her brother Tom McCrea (Donna) and sister Edna Perrodin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joanna cared for many neighboring children and family and was beloved by all.

There will be no services as she wished. Cremation arrangements handled by Sunset Hills Funeral Homes, Plains & Thompson Falls.
