4-H shooting teams preparing for regional and national competitions

The Mineral County 4-H Shooting Sports Team is currently preparing for American Legion, 4H State, and Junior Olympic’s according to 4H Rifle Coach, Don Warnken. He said that this will give them qualifications for Regionals and Nationals.

Warnken also stated that the team is shooting above the qualifier for the Junior Olympic’s as individuals and a team. The younger air rifle team consists of Heath Edison, Decker and Payton Milender, Molly Patko, Ali Parkin, Penny Foley, and Mackenzie, Kaleb, and Teagan Chapman. The advance air rifle team consists of Jonna Warnken, Howie Edison, Bailey Milender, and Aidan Patko.

Jonna has already qualified for Regionals in Sandy, Utah, and Warnken said that they hope the team makes the tops 15 cut. Also, Jonna has 2nd Round American Legion targets to shoot and if she makes the top 15 in the Nation, she will be going to Colorado Springs in July. Rifle coaches are Don Warnken, Richard Milender, and Michelle Parkin.

Archery team members are Kodi Kelly, Tori Tinker, Alli Parkin, Kade Parkin, Katherine Parkin, and Kathryn Foley. Archery coaches are Rusty Parkin and Lad Nakasone.

Warnken also said that they really appreciate all the sponsors who made contributions to the teams and so they can go to these tournaments.
