Truck driver pleads no contest in death of St. Regis resident

Sergey Buslayev, a truck driver who was responsible for 2008 death of St. Regis resident Jerry Parrick pleaded no contest to the charges of criminal endangerment on Jan. 27 in Mineral County District Court. Buslayev was sentenced to time served.

Buslayev was originally charged with negligent homicide when his tractor-trailer slammed into Parrick’s pickup truck. Parrick, who was volunteer a with the West End Fire Department, had responded to a car accident on I-90 on Dec. 17. Buslayev’s charges were reduced from negligent homicide to criminal endangerment in 2010, and he was released on parole to New York. Buslayev currently resides in Brooklyn.
