Montana Dept. of Transportation proposes I-90 project in Mineral County

| March 15, 2016 6:31 AM

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 17.6 miles of Interstate 90 in Mineral County. The project begins at the east end of the Taft Interchange bridge at reference post 5.7 and extends southeast for 17.6 miles, ending about 1.3 miles east of the Henderson Interchange at reference post 23.3.

Proposed work includes a chip seal, fog seal, bridge deck treatment, revised bridge rail, and new pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the highway and take a cost effective action to preserve and maintain the existing highway.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2017, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No property acquisition or utility relocations are anticipated for this project.
