2016 Superior Fair theme: 'Montana: Small Towns, Big Hearts!'

| March 30, 2016 12:00 PM

Plans are now being made for the annual Mineral County Fair in Superior Aug. 4, 5 and 6. The theme of the 2016 fair is: “Montana: Small Towns, Big Hearts!”

The fair board met last Wednesday night with the food booth concessionaires to discuss any changes planned for this year.

Representatives from St. Mary, Queen of Heaven, Catholic Church; the Mineral County 4-H Council; the Superior Senior Citizens; and the Mineral County Republican Central Committee were present to hear the plans.

The Methodist Men also told the board that they will be returning again this year with their pancake breakfast. Food booth chairman Anndenia Heyer said there are still vacant food booths if other non-profit groups are interested in participating. Interested groups can call Heyer at (406) 382-0558 or (406) 822-0058.

There is also a need for a talent show chairman since Tressie Fike resigned from the job. Anyone willing to assume that role may contact secretary Deb Davis-Quitt at (406) 822-3302 for more information.

Live music acts have been secured for the 2016 fair, including Kelly Hughes who has appeared with his band for more than 20 years on

Saturday night after the rodeo. He also makes a point to get the younger folks warmed up on Saturday afternoon with an hour of fun.

Those who enter floats in the annual fair parade which passes through Superior, need to focus on some aspect on the theme, “Montana: Small Towns, Big Hearts!”

Everyone is welcome to participate and volunteers, including those who want to serve on the fair board, are always welcome to help. More information about the fair is available by calling (406) 822-3302.
