Legislators discuss voting by mail

In a recently published Op-Ed titled “A house without walls,” a local former legislator attacked President Trump for failure to fill vacancies in his cabinet and various federal offices. Perhaps this self-appointed political expert failed to note that the nominees have been opposed by his brethren on both sides of the aisle since President Trump is not one of the old guard establishment.

Likening the process of transition to that of a bad home remodel analogy, the writer infers that the President and the AG have left the DOJ rudderless by asking for the resignation of 46. My, my such a short memory – President Clinton asked his AG, Janet Reno to fire all 93 attorneys! Hardly a word of criticism from the main stream media then but today, spurred on by Snowflakes and burned out political hacks you would think it was Armageddon. These Obama appointees that were asked to resign apparently were sabotaging the incoming administration instead of doing the honorable job of enforcing the existing laws passed by our congress. Some even resisted dismissal in an attempt to further their own political careers. As for rudderless, like all big government jobs, there are countless highly paid underlings to temporarily take the reins in all agencies. We must hope that these temps begin doing their jobs properly as they have just seen the results of dereliction of duty.

The writer alleges “a small closely knit team” got President Trump elected. Last I recall, he won handily and still has the support of most Americans due to steadfastly working to keep his campaign promises. Also as a business man he seems quite capable of managing the Presidency as well and if necessary, whatever crisis comes his way in contrast to his predecessor who had zero leadership experience and less than half a year’s tenure in high political office.
