Candidates vie for school board positions in Sanders County

Several schools in Sanders County are holding elections for District Trustee positions and the Clark Fork Valley Press sent all candidates a list of questions regarding the elections.

In Hot Springs, Merle J. Farrier, Ayla Rose Blasius and Cam Ulvick are on the ballot. Ulvick did not respond to the questionnaire.

The candidates for the Plains School Board are Travis E. Pfister, Ronald G. Warren, Nick Lawyer, Ellen P. Childress and Shannon Benson. Pfister and Benson did not respond to the questionnaire.

Candidates for the Thompson Falls School Board are John Wilson, Jeffrey Lundberg, Ryan J. Frields and Jacob Helvey. Only Wilson and Frields responded to the questionnaire.

The questions asked of the candidates were as follows:

1. What brought you to the area and how long have you lived here?

2. What is your profession?

3. Please summarize your education, including degrees held and where you attended school.

4. What are the most pertinent issues facing the school district moving forward? Do you have thoughts or ideas that would solve these issues?
