1 & 2. I was born and raised in Montana and first came to Plains to work as a Fire Lookout where I met my future husband. After our marriage his job took us to several other Forests until we returned in 1989 to be closer to my parents and have lived with my family in Plains since then.

3. I have a BA in Zoology from UM and also obtained my teaching certification through classes there.

4. My range of experience has given me a broad perspective on education. I was a home-school parent for 2 years and then I taught the Little Star Pre-School before being hired for the Title I tutoring program, grades 8-12, in Plains. I taught that program for 15 years until retiring in 2006 and was a parent of Plains School Students for 17 years. I have been involved in Education as a substitute teacher in 3 states as my husband’s career moved us, and continued to substitute for a time in all grades after my retirement.

I continue to be involved with youth through the 4-H horse program and 4-H Communications Contest.

My hobby/business is making hand thrown pottery for Whistle Creek Pottery and I introduce students to that skill through private classes and school demonstrations.

Managing a household and business has given me experience in budgeting, managing finances and inventory and keeping track of profit and loss statements. I am active in my Church, and the Plains Woman’s Club where I chair the Creative Writing Contest.

I believe a strong school system is the heart of any community and that student achievement is critical to our future.

My range of experience will serve me well should I be privileged to serve on the Plains School Board.
