During the recent Plains City Council meeting, Rocky Mountain Surveyor’s Ron Warren requested the city extend the slower speeds leading out of town.

With the work of the soon-to-be-new Baldy Tyres site next to the First Security Bank on Highway 200, the current speed limits could pose as a problem in months to come, he said.

With the current speed limit set at 55 mph, Warren brought it to the council’s attention that a slower speed would be ideal with delivery trucks that would be entering and exiting the new site in future.

Plains Mayor Greg Eitleberg, as well as councilors, understood the potential problem and agreed they would be more than happy request the change.

Warren was able to provide the correct protocols for council to request a slower speed limit change.

The council advised that they would gather the correct information and protocols from Warren and execute the request.
