Once again the Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat are boasting a young team for this season on the basketball court.

Head coach Richard Jackson doesn’t seem to be worried though as he is looking for the team to grow.

“My goals are to play as a team and get better with each game,” he said.

In practice the coach has the girls working both on team plays such as quick set-ups and getting transition buckets.

“We spend a lot of time shooting free throws as free throws win games,” he added.

The team only sees one returning starter in Stacy Gray. Gray will lead four sophomores on the court, that of her sister Brianna as well as Sage Jackson, Sydney Jackson and McKenzie Cannon.

“Cannon will be a big asset to our team as a 6-foot post,” he said.

Coach Jackson also mentioned point guard Sydney Jackson as another standout player due to her taking charge of the offense with her leadership abilities.

Shooting guard Sage Jackson also seen as a strong assist to the team with her ability to score from anywhere on the court.

Though a young team, when asked if he feels he has a strong competitive team for the season ahead, Coach Jackson simply said,” Absolutely, we’ll be the team nobody will want to play. We are so unpredictable with our hustle, quickness and grit.”
