The Superior Post Office has a new postmaster. Liz Asay, who had been acting postmaster for two years, was recently promoted as full-time postmaster. She will assume her new duties on Feb. 4. Asay is taking the place of Jeff Shauvin, who had been detailed to the Lolo post office four years ago and recently took the position as the postmaster for that office.

Asay has worked for the postal service for 30 years and has worked at the Superior office for the past eight years. The Superior office also has two clerks and 3 carriers.

“I love my job and working with our customers. There never seems to be a dull moment and you meet all different types of people,” Asay said.

Prior to her position here, she worked at a carrier in California and as a clerk in Texas. She met Dave Asay in Superior and they were married a little over four years ago. She has a son, Kyle Kepner, 33, who lives in Texas and two step daughters, Holly Little in Missoula and Lindsey Reichelt who lives in Havre.

There will be a Customer Appreciation Day on Feb. 8 starting at 9 a.m. with cake. The celebration will also welcome Asay to her new position. She will also receive an award for 30 years of service.
