Savage Horsemen host wrestling mixer; five grapplers win twice

On Saturday, Jan. 28, the Savage Horsemen wrestling team hosted a five-team mixer at the Plains High School. The five teams attending the mixer were Arlee, Mission/Charlo, Superior, Libby and Plains/Hot Springs.

The Savage Horsemen had 14 wins and eight losses. While no team scores were kept for the mixer, individual scores on how each wrestler did were maintained. The following wrestlers finished the mixer with two wins and no losses: Daniel Uli (120-pound weight class), Josiah Vanderwall (126), Austin Stafford (132), James Detienne (152) and Kane Lawson (160).

“All of the kids worked very hard and are steadily making improvements,” coach Kenny Marjerrison said. “We are looking forward to a good divisional weekend and qualifying as many kids to state in Billings as possible.”

The Savage Horsemen wrestling team will be traveling to Arlee for the Divisional tournament on Feb 4.
