February is Dental Health Month

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and the campaign slogan this year is “Sugar Wars.”

The campaign is striving to bring awareness to children and teens about the effects of sugar and how to maintain good oral health by brushing, flossing, rinsing and eating healthy snacks.

The American Dental Association Association hopes to bring members of dental teams, parents, teachers and others together to help keep children’s oral health a priority.

This will soon be easier to do for Mineral County residents. The Partnership Health Center in Superior will be installing new dental equipment within the next few weeks. They hope to recruit another dentist soon, and extend that service.

Currently, dental care is offered two days per month which includes full dental, except for crowns. The Center accepts most forms of dental insurance plans, and services are eligible for sliding scale discounts.
