On Dec. 21, Amy Dixon’s body was found on the north bank of the Clark Fork River behind Taco Johns, located on Broadway in Missoula. The 44-year-old woman lived in Superior and may have been in Missoula for a medical procedure, according to friends who knew the woman.

Her body was recovered around 1 p.m. above the ice on the bank. She was not submerged in the river. The initial call came in around 11:26 a.m.

Dixon had two children, and parents who live in New York. The exact cause of her death is under investigation by the Missoula Police Department and a toxicology report is still pending.

Roxanne Wyatt, who works at the Town Pump in Superior, said that Dixon had some medical issues and was unable to work. Despite her own medical problems, she always took time to visit.

“She was a good person. No matter what was going on, she made of point of asking how I was doing and she genuinely cared. She always had time to stop and visit. We also would visit on Facebook and exchange messages,” Wyatt said.

Another Superior friend, Jennie Higgins, said that Dixon was an amazing lady who truly cared about everyone she knew and would do anything for anyone. Higgins was sorry to hear about the death of her friend and said that she was strong emotionally and was a very loving person.
