The Plains Horsemen remain undefeated in District 14C basketball after picking up a 66-38 win over Noxon at home Friday.

The Plains boys once again showed their opponents they can outscore them from anywhere on the court on their way to the win. The Horsemen were very consistent with 3-point shots and layups, often making them with two or three Noxon Red Devils closely defending.

Ryan Ovitt led the Plains offense with 23 points while Alec Cole was also in double digits with 11 points.

Defensively, the Horsemen were very strong, as there were only two Red Devils players allowed to score in the double digits. Quincy Grupenhoff scored 14 points for Noxon and Aaron Brodmerkle had 10.

GIRLS

Noxon 47, Plains 39

The Plains Trotters put up a good fight against the Noxon Red Devils in Plains Friday, but Noxon was able to come away with the win.

It appeared early that the Trotters would take the lead and hold it, which they did through the first half of the game. The Noxon girls found their stride in the second half of the game and made sure they grabbed the lead and held it until the final buzzer. Often the Red Devils would get a player through the Trotters defense and score points within the key.

Rachel Huenink had the most points with 15 and Lindsay Laws scored 11. Delaney Weltz led the Noxon girls to the win with 17 points.
