It was Clark Fork versus Clark Fork during Saturday’s game in Alberton. Idaho won boys 59-28, the Lady Cats won 61-40.

Cross county rivals, St. Regis Tigers and the Clark Fork Mountain Cats, squared off in a Thursday night girls basketball matchup. The Tigers edged in for the win in double overtime, 55-53 while in St. Regis. Both teams are high ranked, with St. Regis 8-3 overall, and Clark Fork, 8-2.

The teams were neck-and-neck throughout the high powered game. The Tigers were in the lead after the first quarter, with the score 9-7. They kept their two-point lead at the half with 25-23. The Cats caught up to close the gap to just one point, 37-36 at the end of the third quarter.

Tiger, Madison Hill had a game-high score of 27 points, and was 9 for 10 from the free-throw line in this non-conference win. Going into overtime, the teams were tied, 45 each. Then they both put up four more points, ending the first overtime at 49-49. But, in the final overtime round, the Tiger’s put up one more basket for the final win, 55-53.

Tiger, Madison Kelly added another 13 points to the game. Kenzie Mueller was the Cats high scorer with 19 points, followed closely by Samantha Clevenger with 16. Emma Duboise had 5, Madison Mask, 13.

For the Tigers, Courtney Cheesman had 6, Emma Hill 4, Anna Sanford 1, Kylee Thompson 4.

The Clark Fork boys won by forfeit against the Tigers. Moving them to 2-9 and the Tigers at 5-6. Tigers boys will return to the court on Jan. 31, where they’ll face Mullan, Idaho, on the road.

In Alberton, the Clark Fork Lady Mountain Cats dominated Clark Fork, Idaho in basketball during Saturday night’s matchup with a 61-40 win. The Lady Cats pounced on Idaho, scratching out an early lead with a score of 20-8 by the end of the first quarter. Kenzie Mueller put 12 points up in the third quarter, adding to her total game high of 32 points, and a personal best. She also landed three, 3-pointers in the game.

Sophomore, Emma Duboise added another 8; Samantha Clevenger, 7; Hailey Kelly, 6; Madison Mask, 5; Margaret Parkin, 2; Emmah Baughman, 1.

The boys met defeat with a final score of 59-28. Idaho jumped ahead in the second quarter, putting 16 points on the board to the Cats two. They pounced again in the final quarter, stretching their lead with 26 points, to the Cats, 11. Nick Turnbull had 9 points; Michael Spence with 8; Taryn Ververis 6; Carson Callison 5.
