Classic cars invade Trout Creek for annual show

What better way to celebrate new ownership of the Lakeside Motel and Resort in Trout Creek than a one of a kind car show?
New owners Jack and Jan Aumiller were excited to see the annual car show back alongside the resort.
The Aumiller’s took ownership of the facility just a few weeks ago and intend to continue the dream of former owners John and Julie Harris.
The Harris’s have stayed on with the business, but in a new capacity.
“John [Harris] did so much work that you can see all over the lodge and bar, he even hand made most of what you see,” said new owner Jan Aumiller.
Jan Aumiller was also excited with the annual car show, saying that car enthusiasts come from all over to not only participate, but meet other car enthusiasts along side stunning views of the river and mountains.
The vintage 1940 Turquoise Ford was the favourite for Jan Aumiller. She mentioned that friends Roger and Kay Barnes owned and exhibited the vehicle for the show.
As spectators walked through the show, all on grass, the classics certainly came alive with the aid of some fantastic classic rock playing over the speakers.
Enthusiasts could be seen everywhere, from catching up with friends on the back deck to walking around taking photos of some truly great restorations.
“It’s cool, It’s clean, and no asphalt in sight,” said Tim Sebers, who owned a 1976, 206 series Datsun. “It’s really location, location, location, it’s a whole other feeling compared to the bigger car shows.”, “It’s all about the cars,” continued Sebers.
Though the weather was a little on the wet side ,with the sprinkling of rain, it really did not dampen in any way the fabulosity of the Trout Creek Car Show.
“It’s a small nice little venue, with a very good atmosphere,” said Tom Smith, who, with wife Donna, showcased a 1954 Chev Belair.
No matter what the weather wants to play, there is no doubt the annual car show in Trout Creek sparkles with the many classics that turn out in droves.
