I have to say, the weather has certainly started cooling down a little bit. That is great news since the county saw the high temperatures only a week ago.

This last week has certainly been a busy one for me, as there has been so many things happening within the county.

Even just meeting more of you guys has been exciting.

We have had a few people come by the office or that called with stories from around the area ,and that has been wonderful for me to get to know more Sanders County natives, so to speak.

From meeting people up at Trout Creek for the Car Show to the Chicken Jamboree in Thompson Falls to the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament right here in Plains, I have been busy.

It has been an absolute pleasure, honestly it has. I have been to many states within the US and I am certain that Montana is the friendliest by far.

One event in particular I am really looking forward to is the Huckleberry Festival, as I keep hearing that is the place to be.

Mind you, I have only recently discovered the Huckleberry and can understand why it is so popular.

Though I am yet to try a Huckleberry Pie, I am enjoying the local fruit in milkshakes and ice creams for now.

As I mentioned in earlier pieces, I consider myself a bit of a foodie and love trying new dishes.

With more events coming up in August, I can not wait to experience and see more home grown talent at thee festivals, fundraisers and tournaments that are coming up.

If you have a great tip for a must-try at an upcoming event, make sure to contact the office in Plains as this Aussie is game to try almost anything.

Until next week, stay safe and Hoo-Roo
