Burn season closing June 11

| June 7, 2017 4:00 AM

The Superior Ranger District will stop issuing burn permits for all debris burning, including burn barrels, on June 11.

The Camel’s Hump Lookout, 14 miles northwest of St. Regis will be staffed and all smoke reports will be considered wildfires and will be responded to accordingly. People burning during the “no burning” season may be fined and could be required to pay for suppression costs.

Recreationists are reminded to be extra careful with their outdoor activities. A shovel and bucket is required when camping in both developed and undeveloped camping areas. Make sure your campfire is dead out before leaving and don’t leave your fire unattended. Call Superior Ranger District at 406-822-4233 with questions.
