Thompson Falls’ athletic director Jake Mickelson and Lady Bluehawks’ coach Doree Thilmony will host a youth basketball camp June 19-22 at Thompson Falls High School.

The Blue Hawk Summer Basketball Camp will be for held for Elementary kids from 1-3 p.m. and Junior High 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and the camp is co-ed.

Several of the Bluehawks and Lady Bluehawks will help coordinate drills and instruct the youngsters at the camp.

“This is the fifth year in a row running this camp and we have had great participation the last few years,” Mickelson said. “We teach fundamentals and have competitions in team play as well as free throws, hot shot, and many other activities.”

Mickelson said he felt it was a “great opportunity” to promote the T-Falls’ basketball program to younger kids hoping to someday become Bluehawks and Lady Bluehawks players.

“We really want to promote our basketball programs, show the kids how enjoyable the game of basketball can be, and hopefully inspire them to keep doing it,” Mickelson said. ‘Hopefully, it not only inspires them in high school but to gain a true appreciation and follow the sport beyond their high school education.”
