Hot Springs tracksters qualify for state

The Hot Springs girls, boys track team qualified for six races for the Class-C track and field track May 26-27 at Laurel Sports Complex at Laurel High School.

Trevor Paro led the Savage Heat group and will participate in the most events of his teammates.

Paro is set to participate in four events including the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles.

Two of the Lady Savage Heat girls and four of the Savage Heat boys made their way to state in a competitive Class-C field.

Karly Lawson and Madisen Wheeler were the two girls that qualified. Lawson qualified in the javelin and Wheeler qualified in the 300-meter hurdles.

Savage Heat member Connor Perry qualified in the high jump and shot put. Addison Mueller will join Perry in the shot put and will also participate in the discus. James DeTienne will compete in the 800-meter race.

Bluehawks send eight to state

The Thompson Falls boys, girls track team will be well represented when they head to the Class-B state track tournament Saturday at Bulldog Memorial Stadium at East Middle School.

The Thompson Falls’ boys team will send a total of eight qualifiers both in running and fielding events. The Lady Bluehawks qualified a total of six in both running and throwing events.

The Bluehawks will have Garrett Strine, who qualified in the pole vault, the 300-meter hurdles, the 400-meter, and the 4X400 meter relay. Nate Tibeault qualified in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4X400 meter relay. Colby Lantz qualified in the 3200 meter run. Kade VanElyswyk qualified in the javelin and discus. MacKenzie Holt qualified in the shot put and discus. Lot Schroeder qualified in the pole vault, Cody Garrison punched his ticket in the javelin and 4X400, and Danny Hoisington qualified in the 110 hurdles, 4X400 and the triple jump.

Lady Bluehawks sending busload

The Lady Bluehawks will send six members of its girls team to the Class-B state track meet Saturday at Bulldog Memorial Stadium at East Middle School.

Madison Wheeler qualified in the pole vault and javelin. Brionna McJunkin qualified in discus. Maya Stiles punched her ticket to state in the 4X100 and pole vault, Gillian Nelson qualified in the 4X100, 4X400, and 200 meters. Other Bluehawks that qualified include Bethanie Ulrick in the 4X100 and 4X400 and Haley Morgan in the 4X100 and 4X400.
