Spooky and cute on Halloween
Halloween has come and gone, but not before the last autumn leaf becomes hidden by snow.
Last Tuesday the streets filled with kids young and old, even the young at heart. What started out on the Main Street with kids visiting the local stores all dressed up for the Halloween celebration.
For those venturous enough to make their way through the haunted house at the Mangy Moose, the local high school drama students were decked out in costumes ready for giving the town a little fright all in the spirit of the holiday.
From fortune tellers to a mad doctor and even a scary clown hiding within, the students put on a Hollywood-styled performance.
As the big kids enjoyed the off the track haunted house, the little ones took to roasting hot dogs at the Lions park.
With families converging to the park all anticipating who would be the winners of this years Halloween costume contest they enjoyed the company of the town and it’s people.
Young Ben Turner was the winner this year. Turner was dressed as a SWAT member from top to toe. His costume resembled that of law enforcement straight out of the department.
The Despicable Me family including minions made an appearance, to which one happy pup was ready to hit the streets with his family.
Needless to say Gru was also represented by one local law enforcement officer and he had the costume down pat.
As trick or treaters made their was through the streets of Plains, popping in and out of driveways, the local fire department was ready and waiting on hand with hot cocoa and apple cider.
With some hot drinks, candy and a warm fire, the break was just what was needed to allow families to keep warm and continue a night filled with fun and laughter.
