The Clark Fork Mountain Cats played their final home game on Saturday, Oct. 7. Their final season game was on the road in Charlo where they lost, 48-22. (Kathleen Woodford/Mineral Independent).
The Clark Fork Lady Mountain Cats leapt over the Lincoln Lynx during Saturday night’s matchup taking them to first place going into 13C District playoffs next week in Missoula. They won all three sets 25-13, 25-22, 25-10 with senior Kenzie Mueller leading the pack in kills with 9 out of 26, 2 out of 3 blocks and 6 aces out of a team total of 15. Montanna Baughman led in digs with 8 out of 31 and Madison Mask had 21 out of 23 assists.
The Lady Cats also played Hot Springs on the road on Tuesday with a loss of all three sets 25-21. During the game Madison Mask dominated in digs with 14 of the teams 56, all 18 assists, 2 of 4 aces and the lone team block. Emma Baughman had 6 of 19 kills.
St. Regis Lady Tigers lose to Darby
During a Tuesday, Oct. 17 matchup the Lady Tigers lost to the Darby Tigers on the road 25-16, 25-17, 25-19. Emma Hill led the team in aces with 3 out of 4 and tied Justice Tate in the team’s 21 kills with 5 each. Tate also had 2 of the team’s 2 blocks and Baylee Pruitt had 15 out of 39 digs. Anna Sanford led in assists with 8 out of 17.
Mountain Cats football season comes to end with 48-22 loss to Charlo
Clark Fork Mountain Cats varsity football season has come to an end with a 2-7 conference and 2-7 overall game score. They tied with Troy to come in on the tail end of the winning circle. Flint Creek, which is Drummond and Philipsburg co-op is undefeated going into playoffs in the Class C 8-man west conference with 9-0 in conference and overall play. Charlo is 8-1; Arlee 7-2; Plains 6-3; Twin Bridges 5-4. Darby, St. Ignatius and Victor all were 4-5 and Seeley-Swan ended the season 3-6.
Clark Fork’s final matchup was on the road against Charlo where the Cats lost 48-22. Both teams scored in the first quarter with Connor Voll taking in a 48 yard run for a touchdown. In the second quarter Charlo put up a touchdown by Tyson Petticrew and Clark Fork didn’t manage a point. During the third quarter the Cats managed 14 points to Charlo’s 16. Where again Voll came in with a 5 yard run, as well as an 80 yard run. However, Charlo shut out the Cat’s in the fourth quarter putting 16 more points on the board to the Cat’s zero.
