Root cause of fires?
A root cause is an initiating cause of either a condition or a causal chain that leads to an outcome or effect of interest. Commonly, root cause is used to describe the depth in the causal chain where an intervention could reasonably be implemented to improve performance or prevent an undesirable outcome.
In the 42 days (six weeks) from July 1 to August 13, I recorded the high temperatures on the north (shady) side of my house. These numbers are disturbing.

On Sunday, August 27, I recorded a high temperature at more than 97°.
I grew up in Superior and spent much of my life here. I have never seen a summer like this. I have never seen a period so hot, so dry, for so long, in this place.
