The Plains Trotters opened up the home portion of their volleyball season with win Saturday as they swept Noxon in three games, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-19.

Plains jumped out to large leads in all three games but had to hold off a pesky Lady Red Devil squad to get the win.

The Trotters jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the opening game of the match with help from kills by Jessica Thompson, Rachel Huenink, Kara Altmiller and Lidsay Laws. Noxon battled back an took a 19-18 lead later in the game, but Plains used 7-1 run to pick up the win as Thompson scored the final point with an ace.

Plains led by as many as six in the second game, but the Devils once again fought back. Noxon grabbed a 25-24 advantage on an ace by Kali Murray late in the game, but a kill by Laws, and back-to-back aces from Altmiller earned Plains a 27-25 victory.

Three kills from Thompson, a block by Huenink and an ace from Laws helped Plains build a quick 9-1 lead in the third game of the match and Noxon was unable to come any closer than four points as the Trotters cruised to a 25-19 victory to win the match.

The Trotters will be back in action Thursday as they host Arlee, beginning with junior varsity action at 4:30, followed by the varsity matchup.
