On Sept. 9 the St. Regis six-man football team traveled to White Sulphur Springs for their season opener, only to be defeated 56-13. White Sulphur Springs came out strong in the first quarter and put 44 points on the board. St. Regis was unable to get the ball into the end zone until the fourth. The Tigers suffered from a late start this season due to lack of participation. They were able to pull together seven players a few weeks ago. Head Coach Jesse Allan said the team has had some light practices and some in the gym last week due to hazardous air-quality conditions.

Mountain Cats defeated on road

The Clark Fork Mountain Cats traveled to Flint Creek to face Drummond-Philipsburg in an eight-man football matchup on Sept. 8. The Cats were defeated 54-14 as Flint Creek dominated at the half with 48-8. The Cats managed to put up another 6 points in the fourth quarter.

Volleyball: St. Regis defeated at home against Darby and Arlee

St. Regis Lady Tigers faced the Darby Lady Tigers at a home game on Sept. 8 enduring a three game defeat, 25-12; 25-18; 25-15. Senior Justice Tate put up 8 of the teams 15 kills and 2 of three blocks. Baylee Pruitt had 9 of 18 digs, Emma Hill and Anna Sanford had 6 each of 13 assists and Hill also had 5 of the teams 8 aces.

Darby: Kills 19 (Kimber Schlapman 5, Casey Ehmann 5). Blocks 3 (Kylie Fisher 3). Digs 33 (Ehmann 13). Assists 19 (TeaAnna Rouse 11). Aces 16 (Schlapman 8).

On Sept. 9 the Lady Tigers played Arlee at home with a loss of 25-18, 25-12, 25-20. Both Justice Tate and Anna Sanford had 6 each of the teams 17 kills. Tate also had 3 out of 4 blocks whilte Baylee Pruitt held 20 of the teams 56 digs. Emma Hill had 9 of 16 assists and Grace Shope had 3 out of the teams 7 aces.

Arlee: Kills 29 (Ashley Revis 13). Blocks 4 (four with one). Digs 69 (Eden Morin 25). Assists 20 (Sydnie Rogers 10). Aces 12 (Revis 4).

Clark Fork Mountain Cats sweep opponents in season openers

The Clark Fork Mountain Cats (4-0 overall and 3-0 conference) beat Wallace during a home game on Sept. 5 with 27-25; 25-20;25-16. Senior Montanna Baughman lead in kills with 10 out of the teams 28 and in digs with 12 out of 37. Madison Mask had all of the teams 26 assists and Kenzie Mueller made 2 of 2 blocks. Margaret Parkin had 6 of 12 aces.

The Cats also beat Seeley-Swan during a home game on Sept. 8. The Mountain Cats pulled a four game defeat over Seeley 25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21. Junior Madison Mask lead in digs with 15 of the teams 47 and had all the teams 34 assists. Kenzie Mueller lead the Cats in kills with 16 out of 40 and Margaret Parkin had 6 of the teams 14 aces. Sisters Emmah and Montanna Baughman had one each of the teams 2 blocks.

Seeley-Swan: Kills 17 (Klaire Kovatch 5, Ashley Miller 5). Blocks N/A. Digs 80 (Autumn Morse 19). Assists 11 (Morse 5, Miller 5). Aces 4 (Morse 3).

The Clark Fork Mountain Cats beat Lincoln on the road on Sept. 9. with 18-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-11. Senior Kenzie Mueller lead in kills making 14 of the teams 33 and made one of the teams 2 blocks. Katherine Parkin made the other block. Montanna Baughman made 10 of 33 digs, and Madison Mask made all of the teams 25 assists with Margaret Parkin making 7 of the teams 16 aces.

Lincoln: Kills 21 (JeriLyn Dietz 10). Blocks 4 (Dietz 2). Digs 10 (Sage Kamps 4, Tanea Reisch 4). Assists 21 (Carly Templeton 20). Aces 9 (Maggie Jorgensen 4, Dietz 4).
