At last week’s Healthy Communities Coalition meeting, Mineral County Public Health Nurse, Barb Jasper, was in for a surprise when she received a congratulatory cake and announcement that she has been awarded the 2017 Montana Public Health Association’s Exemplary Service Award for the region.

The meeting was held on September 12 at the Mineral County Courthouse in the Commissioner’s Meeting room where Jasper learned of her nomination from the Mineral County Health Department. This award honors individual’s exemplary performance in public health and who provide support and expertise above and beyond what is customary. She will formally receive the award at a banquet September 19 during the Annual Montana Public Health Association Conference held in Missoula.
