Quentin Richard Schwartz, 87

Quentin Richard Schwartz of Eugene, Oregon died Sunday September 3, 2017 at home. Per his request, no services will be held.

Quentin was born July 1, 1930 to Fred Schwartz and Loretta (Biehler) Schwartz in Hackensack, New Jersey. Quentin had one older brother Kenneth. Quentin graduated in 1953 from Drew University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and in 1958 with a Master of Divinity degree. In 1971 he received a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Montana. He served in the Air Force Reserve at Lowry Field in Denver as a photographer. He later worked for twenty years as a Methodist pastor for the Montana Conference in Plains, Paradise, Libby and Missoula. After teaching Adult Education in Missoula, he moved to Eugene, Oregon where he worked as an Administrator and Counselor in the Harrisburg School District.

He was passionate about international travel, flying his own airplane, collecting antique tools and spending time at his family cabin near Flathead Lake in Montana. Quentin enjoyed many close friends throughout his lifetime including friendships with neighbors, coffee groups, book group and the Pacific Northwest Tool Club.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Sally (Abernathy) Schwartz, his five children Tim (Sandra) Schwartz, Leslie (Scott Angus) Schwartz, Paul (Lisa) Schwartz, their mother Marian McKay, Brian (Kathy) Mebius, and David Mebius, as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
