Bluehawk runners shine
Thompson Fall’s runner Danny Hoisington once again excelled in the Florence-Darby Invite Tuesday afternoon.
Hoisington placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.43 seconds, fourth in the triple-jump leaping a distance of 38 feet, 11.50 feet, and 7th in the high jump with a distance of 5 feet, 4 inches. He was also part of a 4X400 relay team that consisted of his teammates Nate Tibeault, Cody Garrison, and Parker McConnell that finished sixth with a time of 3 minutes, 55.91 seconds.
Bluehawk teammate Justin Morgan had two top-ten finishes. Morgan finished 9th in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 35.74 seconds, a personal record and 7th in the 1600-meter dash recording a time of 5 minutes, 41.39 seconds.
Carson Alexander and Harrison Hughes finished 7th, 8th in the 800-meter dash. Alexander recorded a time of 1 minute, 2.8 seconds and Hughes had a time of 1 minute, 3.19 seconds.
Alex Erosa finished the 1600-meter dash with a time of 5 minutes, 12.46 seconds and Colby Lantz finished the 3200-meter dash with a time of 11 minutes, 9.39 seconds.
Bluehawks’ speedster Cody Garrison recorded a time of 47.89 seconds in the 300-meter dash. Garrison also had one other top-10 finish clearing 10 feet to finish 9th in the pole vault.
Austin Cooper had two top-10 finishes in jumping events. Cooper recorded a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump to place in fifth and another jump of 19 feet, 3.50 inches in the long jump for a sixth-place finish.
Teammate Nate Tibeault finished behind Cooper in 7th place in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet, 1.75 inches.
Thompson Falls runners Josey Neesvig had two top-10 finishes at the Florence-Darby Invitational.
Neesvig finished fourth in the 1600-meter dash recording a time of 5 minutes, 55.51 seconds, a personal record and 5th in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 47.41 seconds.
Lily VanHuss finished 7th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.62 seconds and Haley Morgan finished 7th in the 400-meter dash recording a time of 1 minute, 10.52 seconds.
Kacey VanZanten finished 10th in the 300-meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 49 seconds.
The 4X400 relay team consisting of Haley Morgan, Josey Neesvig, Sarah Detlaff and Rachel Ribeiro recorded a time of 4 minutes, 58.14 seconds en route to a 9th place finish. Pole vaulter Maya Stiles finished seventh clearing a height of 8 feet.
Hot Springs hurdler Elana McAllister finished 9th in the 300-meter Friday afternoon at the Dave Tripp Memorial track meet at Polson High School.
McAllister recorded a time of 1 minute, 1.43 seconds for her first top-ten event of the season.
Tyler Carr finished third at the Dave Tripp Memorial with a time of 18.35 seconds in the 110-meter dash.
Carr also placed third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.76 at the Tripp Memorial and finished 6th in the shot put recording a throw of 35 feet, a personal record.
Kawika Ilac had his second top-10 finish of the season at the Tripp Memorial. Ilac finished 7th in the 110-meter hurdles recording a time of 21.43, a personal record.
