Murdoch 'Murdy' Crust

| August 1, 2018 4:00 AM

Murdoch Edward “Murdy” Crust of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Faribault, Minn., escaped this mortal realm Friday, July 20, 2018.

He was born March 29, 2005, to Cory and Nicole Crust.

At the age of 2, they moved to Minneapolis where he resided with his parents. Murdy ended his school career at Avalon Charter School, finishing up sixth grade.

Murdy loved to be outside exploring and he loved going camping, also finding the next coolest rock to add to his collection. He loved animals, always posting the funniest cat videos. Murdy’s other favorite things to do were going to Dreamers Vault and spending time with his friends playing Warhammer. A little over a year ago, they added a new member to the family, which turned out to be Murdy’s sidekick and partner in crime, Monti, aka Dr. Montgomery. Murdy will be missed for his creativity, love, those good old deep belly laughs, and most of all his one-of-a-kind “Fart Joke” that is guaranteed to make you laugh.

Murdy is survived by his father and mother, Cory and Nicole Crust of Minneapolis; sister, Summer Gonzalez-Ovitt of Boulder, Colo., and partner in crime, Monti Sniffs Crust; maternal grandparents, Jay and Brenda Ovitt of Faribault, and Aunt Sarah (Jason) Dunn of Faribault; paternal grandparents, Dave and Bonnie Crust of Brainerd, Minn.; uncles, Jim (Kristie) Crust of the Virgin Islands and Chris (Beth) Crust of Minneapolis; Aunt Emma (Dan) Crust of Brainerd; and also many cousins and family members.

Celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 29 at 2 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave., South Minneapolis, MN. There will be a greeting hour at 1 p.m. with the service starting at 2 p.m. Coffee, juice and snacks will follow the service at the Cremation Society.

Family is asking that donations be made to Washburn Center for Children or Meal Train for the Crust Family online at https://mealtrain.com/eyg5ze.
