The Plains Piranhas swim team held the first of their two yearly fundraisers at the Plains Pool last week.

A pie drive and side kick lap swim took over the afternoon for most of the swim team members at the local aquatic center.

As parents helped with the donation of some homemade pies, there were around 15 pies that members of the public could purchase with proceeds going directly to the swim team.

The other fun part of the afternoon’s fundraiser was when members of the swim team took to the pool to swim some laps.

The kids were said to have gone into the community to ask for donations of sponsorship for the swimmer to swim laps in the local pool. Some swimmers had upward of 100 laps they needed to complete.

Not only did the Piranhas team members get in on a fun afternoon style of training, they had family members help them by being the side kick to their swim laps. Dads, brothers, sisters and even friends, jumped in the lane to swim alongside swim team members.

The team was hoping to raise around $1,000 for the afternoon to help boost team funding, and the next fundraiser activity for the local swim team will be at the Sanders County Fair.
